A consultant who understands both the boardroom and the bulldozer.
MBA in Finance, career spanning oil & gas, underground and open-pit mining, bulk earthworks and government civil construction — and now based in Broome, where most of that experience becomes directly relevant.
Regional expertise that isn't otherwise on your doorstep.
Nausicaa Consulting is led by Callum Rideout, a Broome-based Principal Consultant with an MBA majoring in Finance and a career built across the full project lifecycle in the resources, civil and government sectors.
The operational background spans oil and gas, underground and open-pit mining, bulk earthworks and government base works — environments where subcontract management, variation control and payment compliance are not administrative functions but commercial ones. That grounding shapes how contract administration is approached here: as a commercial discipline, not a compliance exercise.
That experience is paired with WA Government consultation and policy delivery work, and direct exposure to the capability and structural challenges facing regional businesses in the Kimberley as they attempt to access government procurement and scale beyond family-run operations.
The result is a consultant who can read a subcontract, understand a FIFO roster, and have a credible conversation with a Broome Aboriginal business owner about why their tender didn't make the shortlist — and what to change next time.
How we manage conflicts.
The conflict rule
Contract administration is a position of trust. Nausicaa Consulting does not administer a contract and hold a commercial interest in the works under it. We do not act for a head contractor and coach its subcontractors on the same project. Where a Superintendent's Representative appointment applies, we act impartially in certification and valuation as the contract requires, regardless of who pays the fee. Engagements are accepted subject to a written conflict check.
The four service lines create a real potential for conflict between the buy-side work (contract administration, local content, supply chain) and the sell-side work (business capability and tendering for regional businesses). Sophisticated buyers look for this and its absence reads as naivety.
The structural rule is simple: contract administration and capability coaching are never offered on the same project. The conflict check is written, conducted before engagement, and disclosed to affected parties. It is not a policy footnote — it is the first conversation.
